Unteachable by Leah Raeder
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I have absolutely no words to describe what this book did to me. I feel crushed and raw and happy and not alone and awful and like I’m drowning but floating all at the same time.
Ms. Raeders’ style of writing is done so ridiculously well. I couldn’t find fault with it if I wanted to… and I don’t. I felt like I was transported back into time in the writing. As though I was reading a 1940s/50s screenplay for a noir film. All though what was happening was most definitely modern and in the here and now. How the fuck does someone do that???
This is going in my list of one of my favorites this year. Since I feel I cannot even give you a gist of how this went down without giving up important pieces of the plot I’m just going to share some quotes and my casting and call it a day. I’m speechless…
