RELEASE BLITZ & GUEST REVIEW: SCORNED by S.L. Scott

We shared a love that regulated every heartbeat and every breath we took. It was all encompassing. I thought our love could withstand time and anything thrown our way.
I was wrong. So wrong.

I used to be happy. I used to be Juliette Weston when Dylan Somers filled my life with promises of love and a happy ever after. But when he took my heart and broke it into a million pieces, I became someone else entirely. In one afternoon, I lost my soul mate. I lost everything I knew myself to be.
Three years later, the man who destroyed me is back.
To assuage his guilt? To finish the job? It doesn’t matter… I won’t let him this time. I’m stronger. I’ve moved on. He won’t affect me.
This is a story of love and betrayal. Pain and loss. Happiness and fate. It’s about finding your true destiny.
This is our story.

And it’s not for the faint of heart.

I can just imagine this series is going to get intense. So, why only 3 stars you ask. It was a really short read. Like less than 100 pages, maybe 80? Short stories, especially ones this short, are always so hard for me to rate compared to longer reads. In no way do I think it was a bad read. Just that it felt like this book was more of a lay out of things to come. With that said, it was already quiet intense. That first chapter man, I was considering depression meds. And I’m thinking Jules for sure needed them.
“Life is happening whether you embrace it or not. You need to let go of the past, the pain, whatever holds you back from having a bright life. You need to free yourself, your mind, your heart.”
You see, Jules is dealing with the aftermath of a horrible, quiet surprising breakup. Three years later and she is still a mess. Dylan comes across in the beginning as quiet the DICK through Jules POV!! Like I absolutely hated him and wanted to punch him in the throat and nuts at the same time. But thennnn, you get in his head, and let me tell you, this author has talent, because I actually started to feel sorry for him. And in the end was a little mad at Jules. Because, IMO, what she was up to was unfair to herself and a secret somebody that you will have to read the book to meet, but especially to that somebody.
Of course with a book that is only 80 or so pages long, I can’t say a whole lot more than that without spoilers so I’ve got to keep this brief. But let me say, I can’t wait for the next installment of the series to see how everything goes down. I want to say I can forgive and forget with Dylan, but there are a few other players in the game that I’m having some huge feelings for too that is going to make this quiet a fun ride.
