★ Synopsis

The calm before the storm…

I lived in the quiet stillness.
I felt the wind rustle, warning me, telling me to get out of its path.

But I didn’t.

I never stood a chance.

A series of weather and road mishaps leaves me trapped in the middle of a blizzard with a complete stranger.  In the back of a pickup truck. For forty-eight freakin’ hours.

A stranger with long hair, tattoos, and rippling with muscle.
A stranger with an insanely sexy voice and a wicked smile that turned my insides to jelly.
A stranger who held me in his arms, calmed me, and then set a fire in me that I couldn’t put out.

Storm lives up to his name. Beautiful. Dangerously inviting. Tumultuous. Dark. A clash of hot and cold.

He’s used to getting everything he wants.

And now he wants me.
Some people chase storms for the beautiful thrill. What happens when the storm chases you?

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
“Sometimes, the right person comes along at the wrong time, and you have to just trust fate and hope it leads you in the right direction and it all evens out.”

When I was offered this ARC I was so excited!! I mean two strangers trapped in a vehicle during a snow storm?? Come on….All I could think of was the forced cuddles and different “ways” to keep warm…..Am I right?!?!?!

Evelyn is on her way to a business meeting in the mountains when she loses control of her car and wrecks out in the snow. Luckily for her, there was a man in a truck right behind her who saw the wreck and is there to save her and give her shelter during this horrible blizzard. His cabin his right down the road and even though she will ultimately miss her meeting, she’ll be warm and have food and can ride out the storm. However, fate had other plans and they never make it to the cabin, making Evelyn and her newly found “friend”, ironically named Storm, trapped in a truck in the snow until the snow trucks find them, which will be when the blizzard is over.

So, I grabbed this sucker up pronto and started ASAP!!! My very first opinion of Evelyn was, “OMG, this girl is soooo annoying. I totally feel for this guy who’s going to be trapped with her.” I mean seriously, being trapped in the actual snow sounded more fun. She was mega upitty and snotty. COMPLAINED NONSTOP. But when they get to talking in the truck both parties end up showing a more relaxed, open side to themselves and they end up having a connection. A connection that Storm is not exactly ready to let go of and Evelyn just wants to deny.

If you didn’t get it from the first paragraph, I’ll say it again, I LOVED THIS STORYLINE!! I mean, how different than the average romance book, and so many possibilities. STORM, ~Sigh~, he was, my gosh, I almost don’t have words for him. Like every girls fantasy guy, for sure. And patience of a Saint, I swear. Unfortunately, Evelyn is probably not every guys fantasy girl.

“How can you have a beautiful ending without making beautiful mistakes?”

I will admit, by the very end of the book she seemed to have grown up. But it took so long getting there. She had no self confidence, which I guess was due to the fact she had been with one man since she was 14, and that man never gave her any compliments, hell, he barely spoke to her. But she constantly doubted herself, doubted Storm, which I sort of get,…He is a famous rock star and pretty much known for his womanizing, he even confessed to that, not to mention she barely knew him, but he did prove himself over and over.

“You can’t see the stars unless you go out in the dark.”

I think the main thing that I was disappointed in, I’m not taking away from the book, was just not expecting, was the actual blizzard part. I guess in my head, this relationship starts, develops and then maybe is made ever lasting right after the storm. What I mean is, in my head the whole book happened in a truck in a snow storm. That’s what I wanted anyway. HOW FREAKING EXCITED I was for that. It ended up being just a few chapters of the book and then the rest of the story takes place after. AND, I wasn’t prepared for a “love triangle”. I don’t know for sure how much I classify the story as that, because her boyfriend was the biggest ass ever, and I kept wondering why the hell she was with him to begin with, not to mention staying with after Storm, but for the sake of what a love triangle is, she did have a boyfriend and had another on the side. I know I have friends who hate triangles and refuse to read them so I think a heads up is warranted.

“I just knew, sitting in the truck with you in my lap, that this was it. I figured we were either going to die together back there or get out and be together forever. I don’t question feelings like that.”

Overall, I really did love the story. It has a good twist, I wasn’t really expecting, though when you look at the cover it’s not a huge leap to figure out. I did want more of the blizzard, but still enjoyed the book and STORM. I can’t wait to see what happens with the rest of the guys, especially Ash. 😀
