Meeting Mr. Write
I really enjoyed this book. It was my first book by this author and I was not disappointed. It took me a moment to get use to her writing style but once I did it was easy to follow. This was the story of how Jackson James, was brought to his knees by one tiny Rosie Alvez. Jackson and Rosie are both writers for the same publishing company, yet don’t even know it. They meet and have a whirl wind love, however all good things must come to an end… or do they?
Jackson is your typical bad boy/man whore, and he loves it. He is also a travel writer and gets to jet set all over the world, basking in international sun, eating delicious foods from around the world, meeting plenty of beautiful women to warm his bed. I mean come on life is good, right? Yeah, Jackson thought the same thing, till little miss sassy Alvez comes into his life and doesn’t give him the time of day. In fact she is rather rude to him, and he can’t pass up a challenge where a beautiful woman is concerned. Jackson peruses Rosie from the moment her see’s her again in the beauty that is Thailand. As Roise and Jackson get to know each other and their attraction grows into one very hot, very drunken night of ….almost sex. After that it’s safe to say that all bets are off and when both parties are sober and not falling over in fits of giggles (Jackson found her ticklish spot, hehe) it is ON!!! And when I say ON, I mean O MG ON!! These two had some hot hot hot sexy times; I had to take a pregnancy test to make sure I didn’t get pregnant in the making, LOL.
I enjoyed the way Rosie kept a level head about their fling with Jackson. She knew he could not do relationships, he started it a bunch of times (we got it Jackson, we got it!) however she also could not deny that she was falling for him. However, when she went to express these feelings to Jackson, he served her a broken heart on a silver man whore platter. I won’t spoil it for all you babies out there, but all I can say is what a dick move it was! This book had a good amount of everything I love in a romance, funny, emotional, sexy, just the right amount of angst. I will most defiantly be continuing on with the series.
Me. And Mr. Write
This was book in the Jackson and Rosie love story. I enjoyed this book and watching these two love birds plan their future together. However, with every happiness there is always something waiting in the wings to ruin it. We watch Jackson and Rosie go through struggles to work through their relationship and move forward to build a life together. But something is just harder to obtain then others, and at some point we all face that moment of can I or cant I. This story was hard to get through at points. It was filled with such raw emotion and angst that I was yelling at my kindle to “figure it out” already!!
I was upset with both Jackson and Roise at different times during this story. So much could have been resolved if they were just open and honest with each other. I feel they both had a moment (at different times) where they realized they may have moved to fast in their relationship. I would have to agree with that. I mean I am all for love at first sight and all, but what’s the rush, date, sex it up, enjoy each other and if it’s still going swimmingly then by all means carry on. That what I enjoyed about this series, that moment of reality where you realize you may have bitten off more than you can chew. It was refreshing to see them deal with these real life issues in a realistic manner. I did feel at times it was a little over the top dramatic, but hey why else do we read, then to get lost in an adventure.
However I must warn you…have book 3 loaded and ready to go, because the ending leaves you with so many questions.
Marrying Mr. Write
In the conclusion to this beautiful love story, we are left with so many questions. The answers are heartbreaking and I was truly not sure that our beloved Jackson and Rosie could ever heal from such loss. I won’t go into detail about the tragic events that take place during the start of this book, I do suggest plenty of tissues thou. My emotions were all over the place, that I was considering getting on medication to regulate them. I mean insanity!
I enjoyed watching Jackson and Rosie rediscover themselves, and let me just tell you version 2.0 of this dynamic duo was just epic. They were stronger and simply better together. I felt there were moments where Rosie was acting foolish and needed to give more credit to Jackson, and then she did. And there was on part where I was very disappointed with Rosie when it came to one of her closest friends. Thankfully she got her sh*t together and apologized before she lose a good friend.
I was sad to see this story end, yet was happy with the way Ms. Lewis wrapped everything together. From the start of this series you becomes like family to all these lovable, fun, caring, beautiful characters that come alive in this book. The epilogue is what truly healed my fraying emotions and soothed my soul. I loved everything about it, and was grinning like a fool as I read about not only Jackson and Rosie’s happily ever after but all her family members as well. I highly recommend this series to anyone looking to escape with a beautiful love story.
