Have you ever felt like you were living your life for a future that was predetermined? Like there was some bigger picture you just prayed you would someday see clearly? That picture has been crystal clear to me since I was old enough to recognize it for just what it was.

Or I should say recognize him for who he was.

I’ve loved Cohen Cage since I was a small child. He’s been my everything for the last twenty-two years. I’ve loved him through every girlfriend he’s ever brought home. Through his college years and then mine. I’ve loved him through two deployments. And ever since the day I told him how I felt, he’s acted like I’m a stranger.

My name is Danielle Reid, and it’s time for me to get my man.

Our future is an unexpected fate, and no matter what our parents, siblings, and friends say…it’s going to be worth every second of the fight to make it happen.

Harper Sloan has seriously found her true calling. I think each book gets better.

Okay so let me see, I think I may have been a little…nervous to read this book, only because I seem to get in these sort of “time machine” type feelings about books that introduce a kid and then not even a year or so later there is a book about said kid being grown. In my mind, I’ve just been in the 2014-2015, whatever, and they were a kid, and now I’m just supposed to skip forward 20 years and I’m reading about them having sex and everything and they are grown up. It always throws me, so I’ve sort of stayed away from these type reads because in my head it’s sort of hard to grasp. I’m sure you are all rolling your eyes at my stupidity but that’s just my opinion. So, when I was offered this Arc I immediately jumped on it, but then sort of thought uh oh, you need to get over the fact in the last book I just read a few months ago Cohen was still a kid, hahaha. You know what though, I started the book, and even though every now and then I would have to get another Corps kid straight, ha, it never really bothered me….

Dani Reid is all grown up. She’s the daughter of Axel and Izzy. To say that Axel is strict is an understatement, he is like claustrophobic over the top Daddy, that no kid wants as a teenager, lol. And even though Dani gets mad at his antics she still loves him no matter what. However, between him and her brother Nate, her dating life has been less than exciting. I don’t think it ever really bothers her that much though, because she has been in love with one guy her whole life.

Cohen Gage is five years older than Dani. He’s been there her whole life. He knows how she feels because A) she told him years ago, and B) she doesn’t do a very good job hiding it from him. However, after having to take care of her one night when she was sick, he overhears her dreaming of him, and even though he’s known for years how she feels for him, and him her, something about that night changes everything for him. He realizes he’s wanted her too, for years, but never acted on his feelings. But now the pull is so intense that he doesn’t know if he will be able to stop from having her, just one thing standing in his way, he has to leave again overseas. And he knows that if he lets her know just how he feels he will have to leave her knowing he maybe leaving her forever.

SO, like I said, every now and then reading this I would get this feeling of awe, all the Corpse guys are middle aged now. haha, but other than that I was so wrapped up in Cohen and Dani that it really didn’t bother me. I loved Dani!! She was totally not afraid to go for what she wanted. Even when she felt like she was just wasting her time, she always gave it that one more last ditch effort. She was so loyal and sassy, and I loved seeing her stand up to her big bad daddy, ahaha.

Cohen grew up to be quiet the stud. I loved how close he was to Greg, and often times spoke about how he wanted to be like him and how Greg had stepped in to raise him. And OMG, once he decided he was going to have Dani, I loved how fierce he loved her and how he put her and him above and beyond anything else.

I sound like I’m on repeat with all of the I love stuff, but it’s just how I feel, lol. I truly thought it was so awesome to see the group all still so tight, but now all of their kids were the same way. And seriously, how sweet was it that after all these years, Izzy could still whisper into Axel’s ear and have him pretty much doing what she needed him to do.

I seriously can’t wait for more from this series. Gah, Nate is going to be so awesome if he gets a book, and Liam, omg and does Chance get a book. I know he’s not part of the “Family” but those guys who only grunt and the most you can get out of them is one sentence are the guys I like reading about the most, FOR REAL!!!! haha, This series could be seriously long with as many kids as the Corpse guys spit out, and I love it!!!

About the Author:

harper

Harper lives in small town Georgia just a short drive from her hometown of Peachtree City. She (and her 3 daughters) enjoy ruling the house they dubbed ‘Estrogen Ocean’, much to her husbands chagrin. Harper has a borderline unhealthy obsession with books; you can almost ALWAYS find her with her eReader attached. She enjoys bad reality TV and cheesy romantic flicks. Her favorite kind of hero–the super alpha kind!

Harper started using writing as a way to unwind when the house went to sleep at night; and with a house full of crazy it was the perfect way to just relax. It didn’t take long before a head full of very demanding alphas would stop at nothing to have their story told.
