ToxicCoverNEW“You’re an addiction I can’t overcome, no matter how hard I try.” – Rook Tyler

His life consists of his best friend, Jack Daniels, his favorite drug of choice and women. Rook Tyler lives for performing at night and wasting the rest of his days washing away the pain from his childhood so he doesn’t have to feel anything…ever. The only people he trusts are his band mates from Shattered Souls and he wants to keep it that way. His life was completely under control and simple until he heard the voice of Maisy Madison filter through The Tavern speakers.

Growing up in the foster care system with her two other band mates from Twisted Perfection, Maisy finds herself doing pretty much anything to get her and her band noticed but nothing seems to be working. One lucky night, Shattered Souls, the most popular band in the country, decides to show up at their little concert and luckily signs them on the spot. But the arena venues and massive amount of fans isn’t what has Maisy shaking in her heels. It’s the deep baritone voice of Rook Tyler that has haunted her dreams for years which has her wondering if she can actually go through with the tour.

The force is almost too strong. He can feel her everywhere he goes and no matter how much he tries to resist her, he finds himself gravitating towards Maisy, wanting to hold her, kiss her and touch her. He knows he shouldn’t get involved. He knows no matter what, he will end up hurting her but he can’t help it, his soul is connected to hers and the pull is too strong for him to resist.

Rook warned her time and time again but she doesn’t listen, she doesn’t want to listen. She needs him and she doesn’t care that she knows deep down in her heart that their relationship is going to end in disaster. She refuses to acknowledge that no matter what they do, their love is toxic.

Wow this was such an Intense series  I just got done reading both toxic and fame back to back. I needed a moment before returning to write the reviews. It’s been a while since I’ve read a rock star love story.  And boy did I miss it.  There’s just something about all that sex  drama and angst that just does a body good.

Rook(great name!)  was your hot, tortured, talented singer for his band, Shattered Souls. He lives for the stage however when the light go out, he drinks and fuck away his demons. That is until he meets Maisy the girl with a voice that brings him to his knees and a face he could spend forever looking at.  Watching Rook trying not to fall in love with her was kinda painful at times.  But when he got it right boy did he get right! That is until the stupendous fuck up he did at the end!

God the endings that Ms.  Quinn gives us in both books leaves me sobbing in the corner chatting to my self! You just fall in love with everyone in this book. And a neat trick Ms. Quinn did was give every member of both bands a Pov.  And every single one of them has an awesomely fucked mind to glimse  into. Everyone has their own shit to go through and it’s dramatic!

FameCoverThe moment you think everything is perfect in your life, it can all come tumbling down on top of you.

Shattered Souls hasn’t seen each other in months. Deception and ghosts from the past have torn them apart, leading them their separate ways. When they realize they need to solve their differences and get back together for the sake of the band, they can’t find their lead singer, Rook Tyler, who’s been missing for months.

Twisted Perfection is just coming off the high of yet another tour but this time, they weren’t riding the coat tails of Shattered Souls. Even though they’ve become more popular, all of the success from the last tour means nothing to Maisy as she continues to struggle daily from the loss of Rook.

Fame finds both of the bands but sometimes, it can be lonely at the top. Both bands realize if they want to succeed, they have to drop their differences and join together, but it’s never that easy. Lovers, drugs, people’s pasts and death get in the way, while they try to travel down the bumpy road toward fame.

I don’t even know what to say about this book. I think I sat there staring at my kindle with my mouth hanging open just mind completely blown.  I was not prepared for that at all! Holy f*ck I need therapy after that!  Ms Quinn you are one mean lady! I know one rock star that you may want to avoid dark allies from, just saying.

I really enjoyed this book.,heartbreaking ending and all, however I was more into the side stories then Rook and Maid’s at times.  I just felt that was dragged out a little long, and I got why that needed to happen but it was hard not seeing the whole again. As cheesy as it may sound, they complete each other.

A side from some wise cracking hilarious moments throughout the story, this  book was one big dark cloud of awkward moments,  depression,  angst,  and tension so thick you could cut it with a knife!  And just when you think it might just be OK  to sleep with the lights off…. BAM!! Side swipt into to blackness again.  I need the next book like yesteday, it just hurts  mommy.  I highly recommend this series for those looking for a visit to the heartbreak hotel.

00Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if “It’s Raining Men” starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.

Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking.

Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!
