Blurb v2

How can someone so smokin’ hot be so bad in bed? I mean, Sean Cassidy is absolute rubbish. RUBBISH. He is the epitome of walking, talking false advertising and I want a refund! Plus he’s an arsehole. So… what is wrong with me that I can’t stop thinking about him?

The Pixie and the Player is a full-length, romantic comedy novel, can be read as a standalone, and is the second book in the Rugby Series.

THE PIXIE
Lucy Fitzpatrick doesn’t like rugby.

As the little sister of Ireland’s most infamous rugby player, Lucy can’t seem to escape the championship-sized shadow cast by her big brother, or her mother’s frequent attempts to micromanage her future. Her rainbow hair is as free-spirited as her quest for inner peace, yet overbearing expectations keep bringing her down. And when she’s down, her compulsive little problem lands her in seriously big trouble.

THE PLAYER
Sean Cassidy is a cold-hearted brute… or so he’s been told. Frequently. By everyone.

His blonde locks, baby blues, and rock hard bod make ladies the world over drool with desire. As the rugby world’s second most infamous player, he should be basking in his success. But Sean has never been content settling for second place, and his frequent confrontations with Lucy’s big brother leave him cold. And when he’s cold, his compulsive little problem lands him in the lap of Lucy Fitzpatrick.

THE PLAN
Sean has a problem only Lucy can solve. Lucy has a problem only Sean can fix. The solution seems obvious: you scratch my back, and I’ll bail you out of jail. But when their business arrangement unexpectedly leaves Sean scorching hot and Lucy on the precipice of inner peace, can they convince the world—and Lucy’s big brother in particular—that this is the real deal?

Either way, both the Player and the Pixie are about to teach each other some pretty monumental lessons about family, life, but most importantly, love.

THEY HAVE DONE IT AGAIN!!!!… NO, no I am not shocked at all but seriously this was a soothing salve from the Rugby Gods of this Galaxy!

If you have read book 1 you are very familiar with who Sean Cassidy is… oh wait you hate him? No flipping way!!! I DID TOO!!! He was on my hate-dar as he hurt my sweet lovely Mother Fitzpatrick… erm I mean Ronan Fitzpatrick, the big brother of our kleptomaniac Lucy.  Now if you haven’t read book 1 you can certainly dig into this story as it is for the most part independent, however some minor spoilers will be unloaded on you. You have been warned.

Anywhoooo I have no idea what the authors were thinking on giving a love story to a baddie who we got introduced to in said book 1 but I let the story play along… and by play along I mean I absorbed it like a sponge. (However at this junction I must mention that I did audiobook Hooker & The Hermit (book 1) and Ronan’s lull of Gaelic(?) accent made things um… interesting).

“You’re no lamb. You’re a black wolf in black sheep’s clothing.”

“And you’re a white sheep.”

“In white wolf’s clothing?”

“No. Just a plain, everyday white sheep.”

Being completely in love with the witty banter full of sexual innuendos and hilarious interactions the story is a guaranteed to be an amazing read. It had so many things working for me such as the fact that our Sean (who you assume can just stare you in a multiple Os)… is just a man… a man who is a little lost… a man who skated by through life without much intimacy or warmth show to him. He has always been treated as sort of a trophy for display whether for his family – being a check mark of accomplished legacy Rugby Player OR just a regular conquest for the ladies to “collect points” for shagging a man of certain celebrity status. As the book is set up as a multiple POV narration we really meet the man and the reasoning behind the Meanie Persona that Sean has polished over the years.

Our Heroine, Lucy, is no better although just might be the perfect teacher to guide Sean in the art of being a civilized and polite man that can be tolerated for more than 5 minutes without getting a concussion… no exaggeration here folks! The Rugby player are very ROUGH!

“I think I’ve missed you all my life”

I say no more as you need to pick up this hilarious read… full of stubborn males that just need that gentle nudge to bring you to new heights… a forbidden relationship plot… family issues… lessons in how to please a woman (if you didn’t get it from my previous mention)… and finally that sweet sweet release of HEA.

Lucy: Random thought. If everyone winked as much in real life as they do on social media and in text messages, the world would be a much creepier place.

Sean: I’d send you a “I’d love to lick your pussy” emoticon, but my iPhone doesn’t have one.

Lucy: Those Apple engineers have seriously been sleeping on the job Lucy: 😉

Sean: Ah yes, embrace the creepy winking. 😉

I have no idea what’s next… well maybe I do – Sean does have a cousin he loves dearly and a team full of horny Rugby Players.

SEX! It all started with sex, between my parents. Personally I don’t like thinking about it, but whatever works for you is a-ok with me. No judgment. The sex happened in California and much of my life also occurred in that state until I moved from the land of nuts (almonds), wine, silicon… boobs, and heavy traffic to the southeast US. Like most writers I like to write, but let’s get back to sex. Eventually I married and gave birth to 2 small people-children (boy-6, girl-4 as of this writing).

By day I’m a biomedical researcher with focus on rare diseases. By night I’m a knitter, sewer, lino block carver, fabric printer, soap maker, and general crafter. By the wee hours of the morning or when I’m intoxicated I love to listen to the voices in my head and let them tell me stories. I hope you enjoy their stories.
