Blurb v2

Three months touring Europe.  Romantic.  Dazzling. Unforgettable. The trip of a lifetime.

But some lifetimes are shorter.

We couldn’t have known it would work out this way.
No one could.  No one could’ve guessed that something so beautiful could be so tragic.

But it is tragic.

Yet so, so beautiful.

That’s what sacrifice is—beauty and tragedy.

It’s pain and suffering for something or someone you love.

And this is the ultimate sacrifice. One stunning act of true love.

This is our story.

Our true love story.

Review Sultan v2

What can I say about this book that can describe just how amazing it truly was? All I can say is that before you dive into this book (and you very well should) you need to make sure you have the following items nearby:

  • Tissues,
  • Ben and Jerry’s ice cream (whichever is your comfort),
  • Tissues,
  • Cucumber slices for your puffy eyes
  • Tissues (did I say that one already?)

This was one of the most incredible love stories I have ever read. It is also one of the most heartbreaking. The love that Lena and Nate had for each other transcended beyond anything I could have ever been prepared for. It was beautiful, tragic, and so incredibly magic it brings tears to my eyes as I sit and write this review. This is the kinda love that everyone dreams of having one day. A love that’s so strong and unbreakable even after its long gone. It’s the kind of love that fairy tales were made of.

I’d love to gush on and on about this book, but I’m afraid if I did that it would ruin the experience of this beautiful love story. And I wouldn’t dream of taking that away from anyone. To experience this book is to dive in head first and pray you make it out of the deep end in one piece. Heed my warning… This book will break you, and I can’t promise that you will find all the tiny pieces even after you have finished. What I can tell you is that it will bring a sort of calm to your trembling body that you are not expecting. I don’t have much experience with Loss on such a profound level as the one that Nate and Lena shared, but going through it with them, I felt like I too lost something I could never get back.

I love M. Leighton and I thought she couldn’t get any better than what I’ve read by her, but I was wrong, so very very wrong. She has completely outdone herself with this beautiful tale of true love and loving your soul mate with everything you’ve got, for as long as you got it, and then some. I recommend this book to anyone who doesn’t mind crying big fat ugly tears, and suffering the consequences of said crying fest.

A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR

This book is not a romantic fairy tale. Yet, it’s the most romantic story I’ve ever told. It’s a journey of pain and loss, of hope and happiness. It’s both achingly tragic and exquisitely beautiful. It’s a love story. A true love story about real love. The kind that sees you through the night and holds you when you cry. The kind that won’t give up and never lets go. The kind we all dream about and few find. But it’s real. I promise you, it’s real. I’ve seen this kind of love, and I’ve seen this kind of heartbreak. I got to see it up close and personal, and quite honestly, I will never be the same. I hope it changes you as much as it changed me.
