LET’S TRY SOMETHING NEW THIS WEEK…
First Lines Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words.
What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines? So each week I will pull a book from my book library or kindle mega library. There are some fantastic and diverse blogs & readers who are already participating and you can find them everywhere (FB, IG, Twitter) with a hashtag #firstlinesfridays. If you want to join in the fun of First Lines Fridays please post a photo using the same hashtag so we can all find each other.
How does it work?
- Pick a book off your shelf (it could be your current read or on your TBR) and open to the first page
- Copy the first few lines, but don’t give anything else about the book away just yet – you need to hook the reader first
- Finally… reveal the book!

This book is from a series that I added on to my TBR because of the cover (yes yes I LOVE ME A GOOD COVER… deal with it!) and the total uniqness of it! Just check it out… reminds you of a holiday sweater doesn’t it? lol
Best part is that I got to meet this awesome author not long ago at Shameless Book Con 2016 and she was super nice!
Beards, brothers, and bikers! Oh my!
Identical twins Beau and Duane Winston might share the same devastatingly handsome face, but where Beau is outgoing and sociable, Duane is broody and reserved. This is why Jessica James, recent college graduate and perpetual level-headed good girl, has been in naïve and unhealthy infatuation with Beau Winston for most of her life. His friendly smiles make her tongue-tied and weak-kneed, and she’s never been able to move beyond her childhood crush. Whereas Duane and Jessica have always been adversaries. She can’t stand him, and she’s pretty sure he can’t stand the sight of her…

Certainly, Beau’s magic spell is broken. Yet when Jessica finds herself drawn to the man who was always her adversary, now more dangerous than ever, how much of her level-head heart is she willing to risk?
