Blurb v2

Gabriella Mason is damaged.

Teller Reddy is wrecked.

Misery loves company, and that’s exactly what Ella gets the afternoon her path crosses with Teller’s: the misunderstood premed student who instantly becomes her lifeline when she moves to Los Angeles, an attempt at escaping her heartbreaking past.

In the beginning, Lonely and Defensive complete each other. But in the end, their relationship is like broken glass—cutthroat and jagged.

Calling it off before they kill each other, Ella and Teller decide to “just be friends” despite the intensity that binds them together. It’s a delicate foundation rocked by tragedy, effectively destroying the illusion they’ve so carefully built.

Unable to deny what’s between them any longer, this is what happens when wrecked and damaged collide and close is still not close enough.

Review Melissa v2

Let me start off by saying…

Mary Elizabeth literally stole my heart when I read her collaboration of Dusty FF. I searched high and low for anything written by her and read them and devoured them.

Closer though, it was fucking fantastic. Top favorite of all time, no doubt. I read all three in the series in about a week. I didn’t sleep until every word was seared into my brain, and then I turned around and reread them. Of course I read the FF first, and even then I ate up every single one of her words. I can still remember her author notes, saying how she said Closer was precious to her and how she can appreciate every single flaw that was written. Flaws or no flaws, Mary outdid herself all those years ago and even more so now. Mary Elizabeth is kicking some major ass.

Her words are music to my ears…always; no matter where they come from. But this polished, published version of Closer, be still my fucking heart! <3

Teller Reddy and Gabriella Mason are like this perfect, beautiful mess. They are so wrong for each other but yet so fucking right. Their relationship was so in your face and “fuck you” and “fuck this,” and I felt smothered in its brilliance.

“You better be sure you want it, baby, because I’m about to make sure you can never belong to anyone else again.”

Their fucked up and brutal passion for each other drove me up the wall, but like in an I wouldn’t have it any other way kind of way. Their love is perfectly unstable, chaotic and fucking crazy, but they love each other so deeply that it makes my heart beat too fucking hard in my chest. It’s extraordinarily beautiful.

I am sure some will say “that’s not love…that’s dysfunction” but aren’t we all just a little dysfunctional? If you say no, then I’d probably call you a liar. No ones perfect, and Tell and Ella are perfectly imperfect and almost deranged in their love, and it’s amazing to read.

“Say it, Gabriella. You better fucking say it.”

Teller is cocky and smug, jealous and hotheaded, tattooed and just so goddamn sexy. He smirks too much and loves so hard and just thinking about it makes me feel all tingly.

Ella is a goddamn mess, but I love the hell out of her. She’s crazy in love, jealous beyond reason, and so needy and damaged it is almost too hard to watch (read). I fucking love her.

Ella and I are wrecked and damaged, but we own it.

I don’t know how to write a review that will give Closer and Mary the justice it deserves. I don’t have pretty pictures (mostly because I suck at that) so all I have are my words, and my words are saying that Closer is fucking epic and it is only just the beginning of Teller and Ella’s story.

Giveaway v2
Mary Elizabeth is an up and coming author who finds words in chaos, writing stories about the skeletons hanging in your closets.
Known as The Realist, Mary was born and raised in Southern California. She is a wife, mother of four beautiful children, and dog tamer to one enthusiastic Pit Bull and a prissy Chihuahua. She’s a hairstylist by day but contemporary fiction, new adult author by night. Mary can often be found finger twirling her hair and chewing on a stick of licorice while writing and rewriting a sentence over and over until it’s perfect. She discovered her talent for tale-telling accidentally, but literature is in her chokehold. And she’s not letting go until every story is told.
