– A fake relationship? √
– Lovers to enemies to lovers? √
– A steamy one-night stand turned into a wild publicity stunt? √

A hot & cocky Hollywood actor meets his match when he falls for the sassy girl next door in AFTER ALL. Light, fun and sexy as sin, it’s the PERFECT SUMMER READ. From the NYT and USA Today bestselling author of The Pact and Before I Ever Met You.

Emmett Hill is the perfect gentleman.

At least that’s what his PR team wants the world to think.

Tall, handsome, and wickedly charming, Emmett is in the midst of a career comeback, having landed the role of a villain in a popular TV show. The only problem is, Emmett has come a long way from the “nice guy” characters he used to play and his old squeaky clean image is quickly being tarnished by bar fights, womanizing and bad boy behaviour. Considering he’s two years shy of forty, it’s an act he needs to drop. And fast.

Enter Alyssa Martin.

At twenty-eight, Alyssa is tired and ready for a change. Her job as office manager has grown stagnant and unfulfilling, while she’s become continuously frustrated with Vancouver’s lackluster dating scene, always searching for Mr. Right in a city of Mr. Wrongs.

When Emmett and Alyssa’s paths cross at a mutual friend’s wedding, their chemistry is off-the-charts hot, culminating in a steamy one-night stand.

What neither expected was for the media catch wind of their coupling – and run with it.

Now Emmett has to convince Alyssa to date him for the sake of his image. Her curvy, cute and “normal” persona is just the ticket to smoothing out his reputation, while Emmett provides Alyssa with the excitement and change her life has been lacking.

The only problem is, the two fight like cats and dogs outside of the bedroom.

And considering their arrangement is just for show, they shouldn’t be in the bedroom with each other anyway.

Try telling them that.

Karina Halle is having an amazing year with all these amazing releases… or maybe I’m lucking out as a reader as I have read my 3rd 2017 release by her and they were all fantastic times for me. Whichever, seems to be a symbiotic relationship with us. As you can probably tell I LOOOOOOOOVED this book. Although it is a standalone we have briefly interacted with Emmett and Alyssa in Before I Ever Met You (Review).  Which is helpful in the sense how it sets up the meeting and a hot one night stand between them at Will & Jackie’s wedding. All those hormones and being so close to the happy couple just got that engine revving for both of them.

While Alyssa tries to resist Emmett’s charms… I mean after all he has that bad boy reputation and the fact that he is a highly photographed celeb who is always punching a paparazzi or generally doing naughty things. Alyssa the good girl office manager girl is a perfect cover to dull those bad boy sharp edges. So what starts out as a fake relationship turns into something more.

I seriously can not believe those two tried to fool themselves into thinking that what they had all along was just for the show. Their chemistry and witty trade backs just ooze (eek probably not the best word to use here but just seems so appropriate) sex… and sex there was. Hot, passionate, just what every boy and girl needs to take that edge off… or keep repeating until that is accomplished.

KH knows how to write a great contemporary romance. Beyond fabulous love story and it’s development, Karina always has a realistically creative background happening. I love all the little details in the book (like the sailing bit) that screams authenticity…. and perhaps some Real Life scenarios bleeding through?

Although the book is a fabulous summer read it does has a bit of an edge to it as one of our MCs has a bit of a dark past… so it is not all fun and games. Which is exactly why I love reading KH and will continue to do so until I have used up all my Amazon credist and bank funds lol.

Standalone but Spin-Off from…
