Most people called it a cult. But for twenty years, Josh and Caleb called it home.

In Paradise, there is no television. No fast food. Just long hours of farm work and prayer on a dusty Wyoming ranch, and nights in a crowded bunkhouse. The boys of the Compound are kept far from the sinners’ world.

But Joshua doesn’t need temptation to sin. His whole life, he’s wanted his best friend, Caleb. By day they work side by side. Only when Josh closes his eyes at night can they be together the way he craves.

It can never be. And his survival depends on keeping his terrible desires secret.

Caleb has always protected Josh against the worst of the bullying at the Compound. But he has secrets of his own, and a plan to get away — until it all backfires.

Josh finds himself homeless in a world that doesn’t want him. Can Caleb find him in time? And will they find a place of safety, where he can admit to Josh how he really feels?

Warning: Contains a hot male/male romance, copious instances of taking the Lord’s name in vain, and love against the kitchen counter. This book was previously released under the title: In Front of God & Everyone.

“I love you, you know. Even if I’m not supposed to.”

Cax and Axel grew up together at church camp. They always looked forward to seeing each other every summer. As they grow older, however, they begin to develop feelings that they are taught are wrong. They know they should ignore it but they can’t help it and end up sharing one sweet kiss. Unfortunately, they are caught and separated that led them to have no contact for years.

Over six years later, Axel has grown up to be a man who is comfortable in his skin and not at all ashamed of his sexuality. I loved that he has a mother who loved and supported him when she found out about the kiss. When Axel tries to decide about a new job he jumps at the chance when he finds out he will be working close to Cax.

Cax hasn’t had the support that Axel has received from his family. He has had to hide who he really is or he will lose the ability to have contact with his little brothers. My heart broke for Cax and the struggle he was going through. His homophobic father was the absolute worse. I was extremely happy when Cax and Axel reunited. However, I was extremely upset that they had to keep things under wraps but it made sense. They had to make sacrifices for Cax’s siblings or else they would have no one and suffer abuse from his father.

The chemistry between Axel and Cax was all kinds of fantastic. They worked so well together. I loved them to pieces, they made my giddy with happiness. They had some awesome sexy times and were so adorably sweet. They had me rooting for them to find a way to be together in public. I just couldn’t get enough of them. I was also really happy to see Josh and Caleb make appearances in this book, still love those two. Overall, I found this book to be really enjoyable. There were some angsty parts but nothing too crazy or heavy.
