A sexy standalone novel from New York Times and international bestselling author Elle Kennedy.

Everyone says opposites attract. And they must be right, because there’s no logical reason why I’m so drawn to Colin Fitzgerald. I don’t usually go for tattoo-covered, video-gaming, hockey-playing nerd-jocks who think I’m flighty and superficial. His narrow view of me is the first strike against him. It doesn’t help that he’s buddy-buddy with my brother.

And that his best friend has a crush on me.

And that I just moved in with them.

Oh, did I not mention we’re roommates?

I suppose it doesn’t matter. Fitzy has made it clear he’s not interested in me, even though the sparks between us are liable to burn our house down. I’m not the kind of girl who chases after a man, though, and I’m not about to start. I’ve got my hands full dealing with a new school, a sleazy professor, and an uncertain future. So if my sexy brooding roomie wises up and realizes what he’s missing?

He knows where to find me.

‘I think I might be in trouble. I’m still attracted to him. Too attracted to him. I’m not allowed to lust over someone who harbors such negative thoughts about me.’

After Summer Heyward-Di Laurentis was kicked out of her previous school, she is finally ready to start school at Briar University. Summer has a bit of a reputation of being a wild party girl. It’s because of this reputation that her sorority sisters tell her she can’t move in with them anymore. Without a place to stay Summer calls her big brother Dean (The Score) for help. He finds her the perfect place and ends up being the fourth roommate to Hunter, Hollis, and Fitz (her crush).

‘In college, I’ve made more of an effort to be social, but deep down I’m still the guy who wants to remain invisible.
Summer is the most visible person I’ve ever met.’

Colin Fitzgerald, a.k.a. Fitz plays hockey for Briar University but he also has great skills in video game design. He’s the total opposite of Summer, he’s quiet and most definitely doesn’t like any attention to himself. He much prefers just chilling doing some sketching or playing video games that mingle in such a large setting. Which is why he is surprised at how attracted he is to Summer when he first meets her.

Fitz tries really hard to stay away from her because he knows he could never truly fit with someone as extroverted as her. He ends up saying some hurtful things about her to his friend to convince him and himself that he feels nothing for Summer. Unbeknownst to Fitz, Summer overhears every single word he says and is heartbroken by it. She promises herself to never give him the light of day. But that proves difficult for Summer when she finds herself moving into the same house as him. No matter how deep their connection runs, they try to not acknowledge their feelings towards each other. But how is Summer to resist Fitz when he is just being his sexy self? And how can he stay away from Summer’s lively and fun personality?

This was a really cute read. I did enjoy it quite a bit but I can’t say I loved it as much as the others. My favorite part of the book was actually Dean’s sister Summer. I absolutely LOVED Dean in his book, so it’s no surprise his sister was just as fun of a character to get to know. I loved that she was always true herself despite people passing judgment on her for loving fashion and encompassing all things girly. They were so quick to think she was a complete airhead and that she was superficial with no real substance as a person, but boy did she prove them wrong. Summer was so loyal, caring, determined, passionate and fun. I loved her friendship with Brenna, their banter was the absolute BEST! I’m hoping Brenna gets her own book because she was a hoot.

“I’ll make you feel good later. Promise.”

“You make me feel good always,” she whispers back and damned if my heart doesn’t beat a little bit faster.

Fitz, unfortunately, fell a tiny bit short for me. I really wanted to love him but I think I spent most of the book being irritated by him for pushing Summer away. Because of this, I didn’t have enough time to really like him during the last third of the book when they finally got together, I mean I did somewhat once I understood him a bit better but not as much as I wanted to. He definitely had his sweet moments that did make me swoon a little in the end, it just took too long for them to get there. It’s funny because I actually ended up really liking Hunter. He was very interested in Summer and became sort of but not really a love triangle thing going on, even though we all knew how stuck on Fitz Summer really was. Hunter was great though, so was Hollis they both really added to the book. I’m also hoping they each get their own book.

Overall, the book was really good, maybe not as great as the others, but you seriously can’t miss out on some of these characters. They were all so amusing to read. If you’re a fan of the Off-Campus series, you got to give this one a read. Can’t wait to see what Elle Kennedy will come up with next in this Briar U series.
