The beginning of my sophomore year in college was off to a rough start.

On the first day of orientation, I had an altercation with an infuriating British dude in a campus bathroom.

(The ladies’ room was out of order. So, I used the men’s room. Don’t judge.)

I got home later that night and realized that the foreign student we were expecting to rent a room in my parents’ house was allergic to our cat.

So, the spare room went to someone else: Caleb—the British guy from the men’s room.

And so it began…my love-hate story with Caleb Yates. Or was it hate-love in that order?

The guy knew how to push every one of my buttons.

Sometimes I’d email him to express my aggravation and disdain.

He’d actually rewrite my own words and send them back to me.

That was the type of infuriating person Caleb was.

So frustrating.

And…

Sometimes incredibly funny and endearingly sweet.

And hot.

He eventually grew on me, and Caleb soon became one of my best friends that year.

TToo bad he was headed back to England soon, so nothing could happen between us—for so many reasons.

I definitely couldn’t fall in love with him, especially since all we had was just one year.

Sultan Review (2018)

Penelope Ward is one of my favorite authors, so when I saw she had a new book coming out and I was given a shot at an ARC of it, I jumped at the chance to read and review it. And I am soo glad I did. This was such a beautiful love story about friendship, and love and finding your person. And these two were most definitely made for each other.

I loved how they met. I loved how they had such a strong bond as friends and I really loved watching that friendship grow and evolve into such an amazing love story. They were truly better together, and they both helped in making the other person stronger, happier, and at peace. Caleb’s story was just so heart breaking and you could definitely feels his pain bleed through the pages whenever to reflected back to his younger years.

Caleb has a way of being out the best in Teagan too, even if it was to call her out on her BS, and tell her when she was being a jerk. She may not of known it but she needed that, and Caleb had no problem setting her straight. I loved this story and will defiantly say the ending was my fav. I’m a sucker for a good letter in a book, and Caleb’s letters to Teagan…. were brilliant, and probably some of the best I’ve read in a book to date, especially that last one, wow!

** ARC was kindly provided by author in exchange for an honest review **
