First in the new Silver Valley series from the New York Times bestselling author of the Reapers Motorcycle Club Novels.
Fourteen months. For fourteen months, Puck Redhouse sat in a cell and kept his mouth shut, protecting the Silver Bastards MC from their enemies. Then he was free and it was time for his reward–full membership in the club, along with a party to celebrate. That’s when he saw Becca Jones for the first time and set everything in motion. Before the night ended he’d violated his parole and stolen her away from everything she knew.
Five years. It was five years ago that Puck destroyed Becca and saved her all in one night. She’s been terrified of him ever since, but she’s even more terrified of the monsters he still protects her from… But Becca refuses to let fear control her. She’s living her life and moving forward, until she gets a phone call from the past she can’t ignore. She has to go back, and there’s only one man she can trust to go with her–the ex-con biker who rescued her once before.
Puck will help her again, but this time it’ll be on his terms. No more lies, no more tears, and no more holding back what he really wants…

Joanna Wylde at it again giving us another biker book that is almost like getting on the bike and getting all your tingly parts to vibrate in happiness.

The beginning of Joanna’s new spin-off series of Reapers MC is definitely a hit in my book. It was something different and new drama in the MC world. Set in the same universe as her original series therefore we get peeks at all our favorite characters. Although we get to meet a whole new cast of characters I couldn’t help but feel nostalgic and wanted more of Horse (ok ok I’m totally obsessed with Horse… it’s never enough Horse for me).

The drama in this new series is set in the small town of Callup where we find ourselves falling in love with Puck (who we met in Reaper’s Stand) and Becca.

Silver Bastard REVIEW

It is a heartbreaking story… definitely the start of this Biker Romance pushes the lines of the normalcy by our society’s standards… but hey we are in the MC world… HELL we are in Joanna’s world! If you haven’t read any of the Reapers’s books you are ok to start this series ALTHOUGH there MIGHT be some spoilers regarding couplings that are mentioned.

Becca and Puck meet at a regular MC debauchery. He is out of jail, served his time and proved himself to be a true MC member… she catches his eye at his “Welcome Home” party being all young and innocent. Just what he needed, just what he wanted, and just what he will get.

BUT there is more to his perfect girl and once he realizes her situation there is only one solution… SAVE HER! Rough and rowdy ex-convinct biker? YES! Heart of gold and pussy whipped once it comes to meeting THAT right woman that Joanna’s men seem to do? HELL YES! Don’t get me wrong there is nothing SOFT about them and they all go nuclear alpha, knuckle-dragging mode in a confrontation but we know the real deal… as my favorite quote from My Big Fat Greek Wedding goes…

… Fast forward 5 years later. Becca has settled into her new life in a new town that is also home-base to the Silver Bastards MC that Puck is part of. She is a productive human being with friends and job and future to think of but half the time her mind is on Puck and the protection he still provides just by being in the same town. A huge reassurance as the situation she was saved from still weighs heavily on her… the impact of her old life still has a hold on her life and the only thing keeping it at bay is the resident “Batman on a motorcycle” aka Puck.

“Here I was, a walking, talking portrait of sexual dysfunction, and the only guy who really got me going happened to be the scariest biker I’d ever met. The motorcycle club was supposed to be a deal breaker. It wasn’t personal—more of a “been there, done that, got my lifetime supply of psychological trauma” kind of thing. Puck was exactly the opposite of what I wanted and needed, yet my stupid body just wasn’t getting the message. Unacceptable.”

With life the way it is Becca is thrown back into Puck periphery which is just the perfect catalyst to start what was on pause all this time… and then is when all the FUN begins. This is a story full of angst and heart breaking past. Becca may be a strong woman… with all that “I am woman… hear me roar” but when it comes to being a woman and being protective motherly creatures we tend to be, we tend to do stupid shit when it comes protecting those we love and our heroine is not immune to that.

The story is fast paced and most importantly done in dual POV which is a delight ’cause I always love being in the mind of a growly-possesive-deadly-alpha biker. The series is a must read for your MC craving needs and I personally can not wait for book 2 in this brand new series. Especially since this series had one of my favorite plots in it…. Sorry, no spoilers here.

excerpt

Ignoring him, I settled back on my stool and surveyed the room. We sat in Becca’s section, and what I saw wasn’t making me happy. I knew she was a good waitress, but she’d just started here and it showed. Not only had she fucked up several orders, she didn’t quite seem to get the rhythm of the bar. That wasn’t my problem, though.

My problem was that despite these fuckups, nobody seemed to mind. I had a nasty suspicion this was due to her perky tits, friendly smile, and tight little ass that seriously just needed a bite taken right out of it.

She really, really needed to get a new job—every man in the place wanted her. Including me. Especially me. I hated them. All of them. I shifted uncomfortably, because just like every time I shared a room with her, my pants had gotten tight.

Torture. Becca was just so fucking fine on every level, and not just her looks. There was something about the way she carried herself . . . I couldn’t put my finger on it. Like she was dancing through life to some song nobody else could hear. Never met another woman like her—she wasn’t just sexy, she was a survivor and I admired that.

She’d grown up so much since the first time I’d met her. Bigger boobs, a nice fullness to her ass that was nowhere close to fat but would be perfect to hold tight while I fucked her. Her lips had plumped, too, and over the years she’d gained a sparkle in her eyes that turned her from pretty to 100 percent spectacular.

Not to mention how she’d tasted.

Nearly blew in my pants when I’d taken that mouth. Just the memory got me hard. Make that harder. Fucking basket case.

When I’d pulled up to find her sitting outside with Collins, a thousand murder scenarios ran through my mind. And yeah, I know I covered that already, but if anything ever deserved empha- sis, this was it. Collins needed to die. I didn’t care how nice he was. After that I’d throw Becca on the back of my bike and make a run for the hills . . .

Okay, so there were a few problems with the plan, the top one being she hated me. Or she should—I’d certainly given her cause. Boonie nudged me.

“Did I mention you’re pathetic? You want her, take her. Other- wise let it go because you’re an embarrassment to all men in general and to the Silver Bastards in particular.”
