Meet Brody Easton in THE BALLER!
A standalone Contemporary Romance novel by
New York Times & USA Today Bestselling Author Vi Keeland
The first time I met Brody Easton was in the men’s locker room.
It was my first interview as a professional sportscaster.
The famed quarterback decided to bare all.
And by all, I don’t mean he told me any of his secrets.
No. The arrogant ass decided to drop his towel, just as I asked the first question. On camera.
The Super Bowl MVP quickly adopted a new hobby—screwing with me.
When I pushed back, he shifted from wanting to screw with me, to wanting to screw me.
But I don’t date players.
And it’s not because I’m one of the few women working in the world of professional football.
I’d date an athlete.
It’s the other kind of player I don’t date.
You know the type. Good looking, strong, cocky, always looking to get laid.
Brody Easton was the ultimate player.
Every woman wanted to be the one to change him.
But the truth was, all he needed was a girl worth changing for.
Turned out, I was that girl.
Simple right?
Let’s face it. It never is.
There’s a story between once upon a time and happily ever after…
And this one is ours.
One minute I would be laughing, the next I could be practically panting from the extreme sexual tension.
***Pretty much my experience through the whole book summed up in this quote
Well Hello there Mr. Hot Shot MVP Pro-Baller Brody Easton… and Brody Easton Jr!!! The man! The nickname! THE MAN!!!! My god what it must be like to be inside the mind of Vi Keeland to write this man into existence. On top of it all the whole book was hilarious with a great cast of secondary characters full of sass that had me chuckling and tearing up from laughter! Are all her books like this? What have I been missing? Am I the only one?
The ever so arrogant MVP is nothing but what you expect a hot ass cocky player that any woman would throw themselves in front of to be (not to mention on him and certain parts of his anatomy of course!) or is he? That is how things start of with at least. Let’s think of our Brody as an Onion! It starts off with stinky… like he is in the locker room post a sweaty, vigorous game of football being interviewed by reports. In the world of “man’s” sport Delilah Macy proves that you don’t have to have dangly bits to succeed in a career of Sports Journalist, after all it’s in her blood being a daughter of famous pro footballer. So when the cocky NY Steeler’s quarterback exposes himself to her during an interview she sees him as nothing but a chauvinist pig set on destroying her career and reaffirming belief that women do not belong in a locker room.
“… You’re hot as fuck. And I like you.”
“Oh really? You have a funny way of showing that you like me. Every time I see you, you try to sabotage my interview.”
“Every time I see you, I expose myself to you.” He flashed me his trademark smile. “That’s how we show girls we like them where I’m from.”
“Where are you from, the jungle?”
“Brooklyn.”
So this is where I loved Delilah she didn’t shy away from him (as you should from a man with a player reputation) but she does run away from him as their attraction is apparent from that first towel drop meeting with Easton and his junior… and by hot I mean SCORCHING!!! So as I have mentioned Brody is an onion and on top of that stinky layer is actually a man with a soft heart and a messed up past. Through his VOP chapters we get to see what it is like inside his head and myself I fell in love with him further. Yes he is arrogant and yes he makes Delilah jump through hoops but he faces his attraction and things from there get SCORCHING HOT… as well as mucho hilarious.
“… He’s ridiculously hot, and he’s obviously into you.”
“That man isn’t into me. He wants in to me.”
There is so much of this book that worked for me. Solid story line that wasn’t just about sex and that part was AMAZING!!! There is a major amount of drama that wasn’t just romantic in nature which is always welcome in my reading. There is a whole lot of witty banter not just between the main characters but secondary characters as well so there is even further character development beyond the 2 MCs (and if I’m reading it correctly is there a possibility of this turning into a series? *fingers crossed).
Any who, if you haven’t got my point yet let me say you have to one-click this book ASAP. Grab a handful of Easton today… well MORE than a handful!
PS… THAT ENDING!!!
Vi Keeland is a native New Yorker with three children that occupy most of her free time, which she complains about often, but wouldn’t change for the world. She is a bookworm and has been known to read her kindle at stop lights, while styling her hair, cleaning, walking, during sporting events, and frequently while pretending to work. She is a boring attorney by day, and an exciting smut author by night!
