There’s danger that neither of them can escape.
Reclusive author, Xanthe Malcolm, likes her private and quiet life. However, when her wildly-popular series Paranormal Hunters gets picked up by a big-time publishing agency, she’s thrust into the limelight alongside sexy, photographer-turned-cover model, Oliver Fairfax. Upon meeting, the chemistry between the quirky writer and arrogant model quickly intensifies, creating a steamy page-turner of events made for romance novels.
Then comes the plot twist.
Xanthe has secrets that have kept her bound to silence.
And the truth has Oliver questioning every unspoken word.

“It’s hard to categorize books. Each story is a world unto itself.”

W-O-W!

No seriously WTH!!! Where did this book come from???? Oh right straight out of Kelli’s head!!! If you haven’t realized it by now this was/is one of the top reads so far this year for me! It has been a long road for me to pick up one of Kelli’s books but I’m sort of glad I waited until this series. I was snared in from the get go with a tragic beginning and held captive (willingly, but with a minor case of Stockholm Syndrome… but in a good way pinky swear) all the way through to a blissful HEA with a promise of more kidnap sessions in this exciting new series.
Like any great story it starts with a book shop (but probably because I’m addicted to coffee and so many of my favorite shows and books have a bookstore setting… Or maybe because you know… BOOKS!). Xanthe (/Zanthee/) Malcolm is a writer and her subject matter is paranormal/horror romance. She is a loner in way who hides behind her writing, Pseudonym name, her eclectic collection of friends and her great aunt’s book store.  But once she hits it big by getting signed under a traditional publishing house she finds a local photographer, Oliver Fairfax, to make her dream cover. However, HE becomes her dream cover and crazy enough embodies the man she had envisioned and written about in her books. Oliver is a pretty decent photographer so when a chance to help out his photography company by strutting his bearded self in front of a camera he volunteers to be a cover model.
Throw in an author signing, spilled coffee and 2 characters starting off on the wrong foot and you have a great start to a book.
His beard tickled my nose and lips—that fucking scent was doing me in—as he pressed his lips to my brow. He breathed in deep, and his chest brushed mine. He sighed a soft moan on his exhale, and I was done for.
I won’t spoil things for  you as I think you should pick up your copy and dive in. For me, it was an amazing journey to see Xanthe and Olliver to go through. In the beginning we see them as 2 different people, in fact polar opposites and what seem to repel them is what attracted them to each other in the first place. As they both get closer intimately and physically they connect more and more. I enjoyed their misunderstandings and bickering and over the top fights. Ooh and the 0 to 60s sex scenes that are scorching and tingly all over. Even more I have enjoyed the vulnerability and openness to Oliver that is rare to find in an Alpha Male.
“I want nothing more than to hand you everything that I am.” I couldn’t speak. My heart beat in my throat, and my eyes burned behind my lids. My arms tightened around her. Somehow, I managed to force air over my vocal cords. “You already hold all that I am.”
What we get out of this story is truly something wonderful. Kelli’s writing is superb!!! She has wrote in diverse and multi dimensional characters that truly promise an exciting series full of twists and perhaps dangerous turns(?).  As well as driving the story along on top of some major hot sex scenes there is a great secondary character development. The characters from afar are so complex and full of secrets that I am more than ready for ALL the stories Kelli wants to tell in this series.
Kelli has a unique voice and a way with words that excel beyond any expectations. Indie publishing world is truly an amazing place to discover a new favorite author. In 2016 I have discovered another jewel to add to my beloved author collection.

About Author v2

Born and raised in Miami, Kelli Jean traded the tropical heat for the arctic. Now she deals with twenty-four hour daylight in the summer, zero sunlight in the winter, and believes the Northern Lights make up for the mind-boggling amount of ice and snow she has to put up with for seven months out of the year. She’s surrounded by mountains and ocean and sheep, and claims her bizarre sense of humor is what keeps her sane. The insane don’t know they’re insane. Kelli uses her imagination to create worlds she can escape to from the mundane tasks of everyday life, such as washing the damn dishes and vacuuming up Legos off the floor—and don’t get her started on the mad amount of cat hair on the end of the couch. She gave up on that a long time ago. When the household goes to sleep at night, she writes down everything that happened in her head while doing such tedious chores. But she enjoys living in her own head, so that’s pretty cool. Technology terrifies her. She can barely turn on a computer, and was completely shocked when she’d actually written a book on one. To this day, she has no explanation for this baffling mystery. It took her three years to realize she can take screen shots of messages and pictures of bearded, tattooed men with her phone. Now that she’s mastered this task, her phone is slowly dying, and she’s nervous that she’s going to have to buy a new one and it will take her another three years to learn how to use it.
