Blurb v2

Sela Halstead lost her innocence in a way that no sixteen-year-old should ever have to endure. She’s spent years trying to forget that night even while wondering about the identities of the monsters who brutalized her—until a telltale tattoo flashes across Sela’s TV screen. The incriminating ink belongs to Jonathon Townsend, the millionaire founder of The Sugar Bowl, a website that matches rich older men with impressionable young women. Obsessed with revenge, Sela infiltrates Townsend’s world, only to come face-to-face with a tantalizing complication: Beckett North, his charismatic business partner.

The tech mastermind behind The Sugar Bowl, Beck always gets what he wants, in business and in bed. And yet, for a man who’s done every dirty thing imaginable, there’s something about the naïve, fresh-faced Sela that sparks his hottest fantasies. Because with her, it’s not just about sex. Beck opens up to her in ways he never has with other girls. So why does he get the feeling that she’s hiding something? In a world of pleasure and power, the shocking truth could turn them against each other—or bind them forever.

This was my first Sawyer Bennett book and I am about ready to kick myself in the ass for waiting so long to discover this very talented writer. I have had her hockey series on my TBR pile for some time, and after finishing Sugar Daddy, I cannot wait to dive into another Bennett book. From what I have heard this was a different spin on Ms. Bennett’s usual style, a little darker if you will. All I know is I absolutely loved it! I need the next book now! I freaked out when it ended, and when I looked to see the due date on book 2, I lost my damn mind. I have a love/hate relationship for cliffhangers. I love to hate them, LOL! The ending to this book left me a little unhinged.

When we first meet our main girl, Sela Halstead, she is having a back flash of the worst night of her life. A terrible night where a 16 year old Sela was brutally raped by a group of men and tossed out when they were done using her. She doesn’t remember much, due to being drugged prior to the abuse, but something triggers her memory years later when she is watching the news, a tattoo belonging to one of the man who raped her. From the news coverage, she learns he is a rich, cocky business man named, Jonathon Townsend, and he is part CEO if an online dating site geared towards Older men (Sugar Daddies) looking for their sugar babies (young little play things to spoil). After Sela has a moment of panic and self pity, she sets out to get her Just Desserts, and boy is it going to be sweet.

However, nothing prepared her for just how sweet and tasty this heist would become. And the main pawn in this reckless game of vengeance is the very sexy, and truly amazing, Beckett (Beck) North. Excuse me, while I swoon over this beauty that is this man! Not only is he drop dead gorgeous (which he totally is) but he is also charming, funny, sexy, caring, sugar, spice and everything nice! Before he met the very exotic and captivating, Sela, he was a playboy who never had time for more than a quick one time roll in the hay before he was dressed and out the door. However, with Sela, it all feels … different, something new and for the first time he wants to run towards it rather than let it slip away. Only problem is, Beck is Jonathon Townsend’s best friend. And thus begins the tangled web of love, lies, and deception.

I honestly don’t know what I am going to do with myself while I wait for Sugar Rush (book 2) to be released into my greedy little paws. I can only hope I can get my hands on an ARC like I did with Sugar Daddy. I recommend this book to anyone who’s ever stood at the Crossroad of Love and Anger, and wondered which would be easier to live without.
