Loving her might cost him everything…
Disgraced cop Henrik Vance is having a shit year. Banished to a derelict undercover squad, he’s been tasked with hunting down the daughter of Chicago’s most dangerous criminal. His obsession with saving the beautiful girl destroyed his career. And this time, it might cost his life.
Ailish O’Kelly doesn’t need a hero. She’ll save herself from her father’s violent criminal dynasty, thank you very much. Unfortunately, the sexy as sin cop who crashes her hideout isn’t hearing reason—especially not after the kiss that becomes much more.
His boss wants her as an informant. Ailish wants Henrik to keep whispering filthy things against her skin. But she knows too well the evil they’re up against, and when it comes down to protecting the man who owns her body and soul, she only has one choice…
5 Henrik is Amazing
Wow, what an amazing end to such a wonderful series. First of all, let me just say that I bow to you, Ms. Bailey. Your books are always at the top of my TBR list and they never disappoint. They always have everything a lover of romance novels needs: humor, great characters, powerful and developed story lines, and fan-freaking-tastic sexy time!! It’s a recipe that the talented ms. Bailey has perfected, and the story of Henrik and beloved red-haired beauty, Ailish may have been my fav in the series. And that’s saying something cause each book was bigger and better than the last.
Henrik is forced to work with a small group of elite criminals. They are so much more than that of course but what bands them together first and foremost is their desire not to go to jail for their past naughty behaviors. This band of misfits is made up of some pretty awesome people if I do say so myself. What I enjoyed most about this series was how each individual person was lost and broken prior to joining the team and through the support of good people at their back and finding their love of a lifetime, they were saved and put back together piece by piece. And Henrik was no exception.
I was both captivated and intrigued by Henrik from the moment I met him in book 4. There was just something so raw and powerful about him. Plus I’m a sucker for a cop, throw in some underground fighting and Helllo Daddy!! But what hooked, lined and sank me was how protective, loyal and devoted he was to Ailish. He gave up everything to keep her safe and out of harms way, without a second thought. I normally don’t like to share my book boyfriends, but Ailish won my heart and I know she will take good care of Mr. Henrik Vance.
I’m so sad to see this series end, and I take great comfort in knowing I can re-read about these lovable felons anytime the cravings hit. I recommend this book (and series) to anyone who ever wondered if they were deserving of love and eternal happiness, even if their past is dark and haunting.

I’m going to hell for wanting to corrupt this girl. “No. I’m not.” Deep breath. “But I should be. I should be talking to you about anything but invitations. Like your favorite pizza toppings or scary movie.”
“Pepperoni and Poltergeist,” she whispered. “But to answer your first question…yes. I am reckless. And stubborn. We’ve only been friends for five minutes and you already know my two greatest faults.”

Tessa Bailey is originally from Carlsbad, California. The day after high school graduation, she packed her yearbook, ripped jeans and laptop, driving cross-country to New York City in under four days.
Her most valuable life experiences were learned thereafter while waitressing at K-Dees, a Manhattan pub owned by her uncle. Inside those four walls, she met her husband, best friend and discovered the magic of classic rock, managing to put herself through Kingsborough Community College and the English program at Pace University at the same time. Several stunted attempts to enter the work force as a journalist followed, but romance writing continued to demand her attention.
She now lives in Long Island, New York with her husband of eight years and four-year-old daughter. Although she is severely sleep-deprived, she is incredibly happy to be living her dream of writing about people falling in love.
