JB Salsbury is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author who has captivated readers around the world. Her unforgettable new novel is a story of romance and suspense, with a twist no one will see coming . . .

What do you do when you wake up with no memory of what you did last night?

Lucas spent the first half of his life protecting himself from others, but now his own mind is his biggest enemy. He doesn’t know what happens when the blackouts overtake him, but he can recall the feelings—the rage, the confusion, the fear. Thankfully the quiet life he’s found in Payson, Arizona has kept the darkness at bay. Until his boss’s estranged daughter shows up in town, asking questions she shouldn’t and sparking a desire Lucas can’t control. Getting close to Shyann is the best thing that’s ever happened to him, but when his blackouts return, unleashing the truth he’s battled so long to hide, he may just lose her forever . . .

Split is the first traditionally published book by JB Salsbury and it does not disappoint. As an avid/rabid reader LOL of her Fighting Series I was so very excited to give this one a shot. Jamie’s books are always well thought out and have great twists and turns and though this may be her first “suspense” romance it is definitely not her first time giving us suspense. Her writing style reminds me of those she is influenced by such as Kristen Ashley. You will always get a hefty dose of alpha male and cave man in her male leads but not so much that it leaves you drowning in misogyny and grief. Shyann is a strong female which JB is also known for writing. She has her flaws and her pride often gets in her way but in the end she ends up right where she needs to be. Lucas is a really wonderfully wounded guy. He will pull on your heart strings and draw you in while seducing you. Gage is pure masculine, adrenaline, danger, and sex. You don’t just get the nice guy or the bad boy in this book. You get both and for those who like complex characters this book will do it for you.

This audio book was narrated by both a male and female narrator J.F. Harding and Holly Chandler. I enjoyed both narrators especially J.F. Harding who had to convey the difficult characters of Lucas and Gage. I won’t say anymore about that in case for some reason you are reading this review and have not yet read the book. If you like some steaming hot sexy times and mystery with your romance then this is the book for you.

It is a standalone so no worries about committing to a series that you have to keep up with now. Though I do highly recommend her Fighting Series if you have not read them yet. They do not end in cliffhangers so whether she releases no more books or twelve more you can read with ease of mind that each book wraps up fully.
