Blurb v2

Hosting her brother’s wedding for an MVP guest list is the challenge of Jess Canning’s life. Already the family screw-up, she can’t afford to fail. And nobody (nobody!) can learn of the colossal mistake she made with the best man during a weak moment last spring. It was wrong, and there will not be a repeat. Absolutely not. Even if he is the sexiest thing on two legs.

Blake Riley sees the wedding as fate’s gift to him. Jess is the maid of honor and he’s the best man? Let the games begin. So what if he’s facing a little (fine, a lot) of resistance? He just needs to convince the stubborn blonde that he’s really a good boy with a bad rap. Luckily, every professional hockey player knows that you’ve got to make an effort if you want to score.

But Jess has more pressing issues to deal with than sexy-times with a giant man-child. Such as: Will the ceremony start on time, even though someone got grandma drunk? Does glitter ever belong at a wedding? And is it wrong to murder the best man?

Warning: Do not read while sipping hot liquids. Or cold ones. Or while sitting anywhere laughter would be inappropriate. Contains hot but hilarious hockey players, puppies and a snarky pair of underwear.

As if the wedding weren’t stressful enough, I have to cope with the loudest, brashest, most annoying man I’ve ever met in my life.’

To say that I did a little happy dance when I got this A.R.C. is a huge understatement. I may have squealed as well, but how could I not? I loved the Him series by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy! I could not wait to see what a fun and steamy book they would write together for Blake. They did not disappoint! I LOVED it!

“Jessie?”
“Hmmm?”
“I’m glad we’re dating now.” Cue her arguments in 3…2…1…
“We’re…not dating.”
I grin at the ceiling. “Sure we are. We did it on my bed.” I shrug. “That means we’re dating.”
“That’s not how it works!”

The book starts off with Wes and Jamie’s wedding being a few days away. Jess Canning, Jamie’s sister, has been planning this major event furiously. As the date fast approaches, she realizes that planning weddings for people aren’t exactly something she wants to do with her life. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time she’s made a career change. Jess is a bit lost in which field she would fit but that changes when she had to take care of her brother. She loved the feeling she got and would like to study nursing. She doesn’t want any distractions, however, Blake makes that hard to do when he is so persistent in his pursuit of her. Especially when at the moment she has to work closely with him since he is the Best Man in the wedding.

If you’ve read the Him Series, then you already know Blake Riley. He is obnoxious, cocky, funny, annoying, and very charming. He’s a big loud lovable teddy bear that can be very overwhelming, but you honestly can’t help but find him endearing. I absolutely LOVED Blake! He’s a total playboy, but he finds himself completely hooked to Jess. There was so much more to Blake than what you would expect. I loved seeing his vulnerable side that made my heart break for him. He can be such a gentle giant at times that you can’t help but melt.

‘It’s been a long time since anything felt so fucking good. I’m drowning in this girl and I don’t want to be saved.’

Sarina and Elle can write anything together and I will read it. That’s how funny and just plain awesome their books are. While their Him series was an M.M. romance, I think they did just as awesome with this M.F. romance. I loved all the silly banter throughout the book. I was smiling like a loon the whole time I was reading it. Let’s not forget about the steam in this book because it was scorching! There was also a wonderful cast of secondary characters in their family and friends. I am so stoked for the next book. I cannot wait to read what comes next in the W.A.G. Series. I highly recommend this book! And if you haven’t read Wes and Jamie’s story, you really need to get on that like now!
