If you have been keeping up with the series then you will recognize Amanda from her brief appearance in her brother’s love story in Start Me Up (Book 4). So Amanda has some series trust issues when it comes to men, especially men who impact her career. That’s why this story can only be described as slow burn relationship story. As it takes a veeeery long time for Derek to chip away at all that armour. I really enjoyed their story. It was a perfect amount of hawtness and romance. There wasn’t much about the life at The Fix, so the story focused more on the couple in this book.
