GETTING HOT WITH THE SCOT

IT’S TIME TO FLIRT WITH A MAN IN A KILT
Cassie Crow, a pop-culture reporter for a TV talk show, is focused on becoming a “serious” journalist. But when she stumbles into a kilted Highlander with a killer accent, Cassie decides that taking one night off from work and spending it with a sexy Scot couldn’t hurt. . .
Logan Reid has built a career on his charm, hosting a series of off-the-wall hijinks on the Web. But when the Scottish prankster meets the all-American, equal parts intelligent and irresistible Cassie, Logan realizes that one night of fun won’t be enough. Could it be that this career-focused, commitment-phobic couple is finally ready to take a chance at true and lasting love?
To me Getting Hot with the Scot is a perfect beginning to a great Romantic Comedy series by new to me author Melonie Johnson. I don’t quite know whether it was the cover, the blurb, or the prospect of reading about modern day Scot… or perhaps it was a perfect combination of all three that drew me to this book.
The main leads in this standalone series that is connected by interconnected characters are Cassie Crow and Logan Reid. Cassie is on a long awaited and thoroughly planned vacation through Europe with her closest friends when she stumbled upon Logan‘s latest prank for his internet show in Edinburgh. What was suppose to be a simple jest ignited some real sparks between the two that leads Logan to chase the girls and the object of his desire to London. However, not all together for the right reason… in the beginning. You see the attraction between the two is undeniable and a bit tragic when you consider that they live on different continents and not to mention have completely different personalities.
Melanie Johnson writes a greatly developed characters and story that is very relatable, especially in this age of dating. The story is full of chuckles and can be devoured in one sitting if real life doesn’t come knocking.
I really loved the beginning of this series and judging by the secondary characters it will be interesting to see who Cassie‘s friends end up with. All the girls have different personalities, quirks, and eccentricities that need to matched with a handsome international man. The premise of the series is quite interesting and I will be reading each book to get all my questions answered.
