IMG_1621Not all love stories are written the same way. Ours had torn chapters, missing paragraphs, and a bittersweet ending.

Luna Rexroth is everyone’s favorite wallflower.

Sweet.

Caring.

Charitable.

Quiet.

Fake.

Underneath the meek, tomboy exterior everyone loves (yet pities) is a girl who knows exactly what, and who, she wants—namely, the boy from the treehouse who taught her how to curse in sign language.

Who taught her how to laugh.

To live.

To love.

Knight Cole is everyone’s favorite football hero.

Gorgeous.

Athletic.

Rugged.

Popular.

Liar.

This daredevil hell-raiser could knock you up with his gaze alone, but he only has eyes for the girl across the street: Luna.

But Luna is not who she used to be. She doesn’t need his protection anymore.

When life throws a curveball at All Saints’ golden boy, he’s forced to realize not all knights are heroes.

Sometimes, the greatest love stories flourish in tragedy.

“Life is too short not to be with the person you love.”

You have no idea how excited I was to finally get to read this book. I am a big fan of the Sinners of Saint series. I also really enjoyed Pretty Reckless and the bits of Knight and Luna that we got. So, I couldn’t wait to start reading this book.

Knight Cole is Dean and Rosie’s son–from the book Ruckus (Sinners of Saint series). Luna Rexroth is Trent and Edie’s daughter–from the book Scandalous (Sinners of Saint series). Knight and Luna have been lifelong friends. Even when they tried not to be, they always had each other’s backs. That’s how strong of a bond that they share. Their relationship was never a simple one and the older they got the more complicated it seemed to get.

‘She drew me into a hug. I sank into her arms. I didn’t want to kiss her. I wanted to zip open my skin and tuck her into me. Hide her from the world and keep her mine.’

Knight Cole had some great qualities. He was super sweet, loyal, loves deeply and good at heart. My favorite moments of his were the ones he spent with his mom. It just melted my heart. But he also made me so frustrated at how he couldn’t seem to verbalize how he felt and would instead lash out. I didn’t know whether to love him or hate him. There were so many moments I didn’t agree with his behavior and wanted Luna to just kick him to the curb for being a jackass. However, Luna just loved him and cared about him too much to give up on him. When Knight would allow himself to be vulnerable I felt my heart thaw for him.

Luna Rexroth wasn’t perfect either and definitely had her issues. Unfortunately, her biggest weakness was Knight. I hated how he could at times seem to manipulate her and disliked how harshly he would hurt her. It really broke my heart and I wanted to just give up reading at times. This all started from them both miscommunicating. I know they are very young and quite immature but I did want them to have been honest and gotten their crap together sooner in the book. I wanted more of them actually together then this battle they seemed to have with one another time and time again.

“No matter how hard or stupid sh*t gets, Moonshine. Ride or Die, remember?”

When I say there is a lot of angst in this book, I mean there is A LOT of angst in this book. Add in Rosie’s storyline, I felt my heart completely shatter. I don’t want to give much away about the story. All I’ll say is this book is definitely one hell of a rollercoaster of emotions. I ugly cried my eyes out like a freaking baby and felt such anger but also had my heart warm by some touching moments. It was definitely great to see the growth in Knight and Luna by the end of the book. The ending was extremely bittersweet and the epilogue had me tearing up with happy tears. If you are into angsty reads and the friends to lovers trope then this is definitely the book for you. I for one am really curious as to what is going to happen in the next book.

Right now I wanted to just be here in silence with my best friend. And somehow, I don’t know how, but Luna sensed it. So we sat there for what felt like two hours but was probably a lot less, until I opened my eyes again. Her eyes were closed, too. I watched her for a while.

When she opened her eyes, it felt like she took something away from me.

“Let’s jump,” she said.

“I’m quite fond of my limbs, Moonshine.”

“Stop being such a big baby.”

“Big, quarterback baby who just finished a football season in one piece and would like to keep all his body parts intact.”

She crawled out of the treehouse and settled on the branch. It was thick, but I doubted it could carry my muscular ass for more than a few seconds before snapping. I rolled my eyes and settled next to her. She slipped her hand in mine.

“Three, two, one.”

It was a short, sweet way down.
