Only in my family could a professional hockey player earning seven million dollars a year be considered a slacker.

I’m at the height of my athletic career. Yet my arrogant brother is always trying to recruit me into the family business: a global security company so secretive that I don’t even know its name. Pass, thanks. I don’t need a summer job.

But the jerk ambushes me with a damsel in distress. That damsel is Alex, the competitive, sassy girl I knew when we were kids. Now she’s a drop-dead gorgeous woman in deep trouble. So guess who’s on a flight to Hawaii?

It’s going to be a long week in paradise. My job is keeping Alex safe, while her job is torturing me with her tiny bikinis. Or maybe we’re torturing each other. It’s all snark and flirting until the threat against Alex gets serious. And this jock must become her major league protector.

Moonlighter is a stand-alone novel. No cliff-hangers, no prior experience necessary. Contains: hackers, hockey players, and a hotel room with only one bed.

Eric Bayer is a professional hockey player. All he wants to do is enjoy the short amount of time off he gets before the season starts up again. Instead, he finds himself volunteered by his family to accompany an old childhood friend to Hawaii. A friend he hasn’t seen since he was becoming a teen. At least that’s what he has people believe. Truth is he saw Alex Engel a few months back and she, unfortunately, didn’t remember who he was. But he’s not telling anyone that little tidbit.

Alex Engel is a strong independent woman and CEO of a company that is about to launch a revolutionary AI butler for the amazing privacy it gives its users. That’s what all of Alex’s concentration should be towards. However, she finds herself in a little bit of trouble when she becomes pregnant with her ex-boyfriend’s child, a man that hit her and now won’t leave her alone. She wants nothing to with him and is left no choice but to contact Eric Bayer’s brother Max to help her out with her situation.

I seriously ENJOYED this book so hard it was SO good. I was thoroughly entertained by the suspenseful storyline as well as the steamy romance. Eric and Alex were so cute together. I feel for Eric pretty instantly and trust me it isn’t that difficult to like the guy. He was funny, protective and super caring towards Alex that he had me melting. Alex, I wasn’t too sure if I would like but I totally did. I loved how sassy and fun she could be and that she could hold her own with how smart she was. The two of them together was just the perfect combination.

I can’t tell you enough how much I enjoyed this book from start to finish. It had sports, mystery, and romance rolled all into one and it was done so in such a wonderful and entertaining way. Sarina Bowen really nailed it with this book. I can’t wait to see what else in store for this series. I definitely recommend this one.
