We promised to stay best friends through thick and thin, but that was before the kiss that changed it all. Before he went off to war and left me behind angry and bitter. Now he’s back, turning my world upside down, but I’m not the love-sick tomboy he left behind. And even though he always promised through thick and thin, something tells me I’m a little thicker than he had in mind.Joshua BlackI made promises to Jenny, but I’m not the boy I was when I left for Afghanistan. I’m broken, scarred, and not nearly good enough to hold her heart. I tried to do the right thing and stay away, but my family needs me, which means I have to go home. Jenny hates me, and maybe that’s a good thing because I only want to do right by her. That means keeping my hands off her newly rounded curves. No matter how hard that might be.
Aww this book got me in the feels man! I was hooked from page one! I couldn’t put it down once I started. I finished this book in one day. There was a part half way through and I just had to know how it ended and what was going to happen. I laughed. I cried. I cursed at the characters when they made me mad, which was a lot. But luckily they figured their *ish out and we got such a beautiful ending. Ahh that ending!!!
Josh and Jenny have have best friends since they were tiny tots in school. Making mud pies in the dirt, riding their bikes together, playing video games till their eyes crossed, and apologize in the form of candy. It was really sweet. They lived a simple life, and kept their feeling for each other to themselves, till they couldn’t anymore. And thus started years of pain, loss, fear, sadness, and everything in between. There were parts that were hard to read, and my heart was breaking in two, but I promise stick with it, you will adore how it ends! The big pink glitter ribbon that wraps this story up is just beautiful.
I highly recommend this book for those of us looking, Fir small town living with a hunky farmer and his best friend who can kick anyone butt in pool.
