I can’t borrow him.
He’s not a sweater or a skirt.
He’s not even her favorite dress—the lucky one she wears on first dates. The one she probably wore on her first date with him.In my defense, I didn’t know who he was. To me, he was a cool, calm, confident stranger. He was perfection for the entire hour and a half train ride while the concrete jungle turned into a rolling green landscape.
To an outsider, we probably appeared more friends than hopeful lovers. But my blush came quickly, and his dimples indented with every smile. We definitely shared a spark of what could be.
Too bad I didn’t know who he was before I fell for him, because he can’t be mine.
I’m really loving me some Piper Rayne books right now. This was a spin off series from the White Collar Brothers series. This is about the Mancini brothers’ younger sister Blanca. Aww what a sweetheart she was!! I loved her in the bits and pieces we got from her brothers’ books, but seeing her shine in her own book was just amazing. I’m very excited about this new series, and can’t wait to see where the other books take us.
Now normally I’d be all about the girl code of not dating your besties ex, but the way these two met and carried on with their relationship was done in a way that it was hard not to root for Ethan and Blanca to make it the long haul. I loved the banter between these two. I love how naturally they fell into a friendship and then into something more.
I also really enjoyed the new friendships Blanca makes in her new town and new apartment. Her roommates are so sweet and supportive, well till her bestie, learns that Blanca is seeing her ex… then things get a little bumpy. Though I understand where the issue was, I also felt like Sierra was being a little bit of a brat. It’s not like Blanca fell in love with Ethan because she wanted to hurt Sierra. Things are not always black and white. Ethan and Blanca were definitely a shade of grey.
I can not wait to see where the rest of the series goes, and to see who ends up with who and what drama will follow then to their happier ever after. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a story with lots of heart, LOL moments, and who has a great group of friends.

Piper Rayne, or Piper and Rayne, whichever you prefer because we’re not one author, we’re two. Yep, you get two USA Today Bestselling authors for the price of one. Our goal is to bring you romance stories that have “Heartwarming Humor With a Side of Sizzle” (okay…you caught us, that’s our tagline). A little about us… We both have kindle’s full of one-clickable books. We’re both married to husbands who drive us to drink. We’re both chauffeurs to our kids. Most of all, we love hot heroes and quirky heroines that make us laugh, and we hope you do, too.
