Falling in love causes emotional ecstasy. Falling out of low has the power to provoke unimaginable sorrow and despair

Dear Soraya welcome to the publishing side of book business…

and I am happy you have crossed over because you have brought this wonderful book with you.

This is Soroya’s debut novel that is (thankfully) going to be a series because I want to know so much MORE!

“Ti amo. Esisti solo tu per me.” I love you. You’re the only one for me. “You’re my pleasure, my sanity, my calmness, my home. My positive counterpart in every negative characteristic I own.”

The book is written in dual POV – of Hero (or should I say Anti-Hero) Luca & Heroine Fallon.
Their love story starts off beautifully and develops at an alarmingly fast rate with proclamation of love that lull you into a sense of peace that the story will be just a beautiful HEA. Although, through Luca’s eyes we see a darker world and his reality you still hold on to the hope that everything will be all right and a true optimist in all love stories that is exactly what I did.

Well I was definitely wrong to do so because this story has a ‘dark’ aspect to it… not ethically bad but how the situations are handled. There is no pretty solution because the story sticks close to reality. What does happen when your Vanilla World (I totally borrowing this world from BDSM but it fits, so oh well) clashes and clashes hard into the Dark Underbelly of Criminal World of Chicago. Who wins over? Do you go dark or lighten up that dark? I do not envy Fallon and can not wait for book 2 in the series.

I truly enjoyed their courtship and all the steamy parts but what really gutted me were the times in between. How well Soraya portrayed their grey and black times of their courtship and relationship… Oooh so much beautiful angst.

The story does end in a bit of a cliffhanger BUT it does resolve conflicts of the book.

Overall, this story really did it for me… I am a true believer of timing when reading a book and sometimes when you are in the mood or craving something you haven’t realized you do and when you pick RIGHT the planets align and give you a Gem.
