SO WE HAD A CHANCE TO PICK STACEY’S BRAIN

We asked for her 10 influential novels that made/shaped how she felt about writing… here is her top 10 list… in no particular order…

10.) The Monster at the End of the Book-the very first book I ever fell in love with!

9.) Any of Stephen King’s standalone books from the 90s. I have always been a reader, but around the age of twelve I discovered the horrifying wonder that is King’s work. I couldn’t get enough! If it had his name on it, I read it!

8.) Anything by Christopher Pike. During my preteen years I spent hour after hour, day after day absorbed in the YA worlds created by Mr. Pike.

7.) The Casteel Series by V.C. Andrews. Troy, oh Troy, the haunted romanticism of his character still makes my heart ache. The forbidden love, his years watching her from affair—but in a sweet and nonstalkery fashion. To this day I still rank him as my #1 Book Boyfriend.

6.) Twilight, I hadn’t written in years and it was this series that made me want to delve into my own creativity once more. Stephenie Meyer rekindled my passion for writing and I thank her for that!

5.) Divergent. Why? Four. Need I say more?

4.) Gillian Flynn’s Gone Girl. Holy crap this book grabbed me from the start and refused to let go. It was impossible to put down and I finished it in two days flat. Amazing!

3.)  Any of the books by my family at Anchor Group Publishing, I am surrounded by amazing talent there!

2.) Warm Bodies, a zombie in love? That’s my kind of love story! Plus the action/humor blend is a recipe I utilize myself and I appreciate it in other works!

1.) The Hunger Games Series, want to see me go full out fan-girl crazy? It will be over this series. And for the record—Team Peeta all the way!
