This book was a hard one for me to review. I really enjoyed the book when I finished it, however it took me a moment to get into it. I don’t think it was the book that was the issue but the reader. Sometimes your mind is just not in the right frame to fully appreciate the wonders of a book. Unfortunately, my mind / life has been very hectic lately and it didn’t have the stamina to fully get lost in a book of this caliber. That being said once I put my big girl pants on and shut my mind down some (thank you Jonah the blizzard for the snow days!) I was about to sit back and enjoy the ride in the end.
Book two picks up where the first one ended. And I so loved being with Ryan and Liz again. I’ve missed those two! I missed their adult conversation, their sexy bedroom antics, and the way Ryan shows Liz exactly how much she means to him. I mean, that man *fans self* what a force to be reckoned with. Nothing stands in his way for the women he loves, not even himself. But Ryan was a very bad boy too, and didn’t trust his relationship and his love with Liz and due to a huge oopsie, he caused some issues for them. Now, I know and fellow readers know why Ryan made these choices (I’m not telling you have to read for yourself) and while I understand some of his view points, the fact of the matter is if the tables were turned, our dear Ryan would of blown a gasket (yes, you would have Mr. Price!).
That being said, Liz is not all innocents and unicorns either. She didn’t always trust herself and Ryan’s love for her either. She let past emotions and issues come into the current picture and we all know that’s just a recipe for disaster. But have no fear my little reading grasshoppers, these two maybe be strong willed, hard headed, and stubborn as miles, but they love while their whole heart, and matters of the heart are not always so easy to turn our backs on. While there is a HEA in the end, the ride was not always smooth, and the road to love is not always straight. You have to mind the curves, and dodge pot holes left and right sometimes, but it’s always, ALWAYS worth it in the end when you have your ride or die next to you.
I’m so glad I stuck with this book and gave it the fair chance it deserved, because like always it was totally worth it. I recommend this book to anyone who ever wonders how people in Russia stay so warm during those cold, bone chilling nights.
